Decoding QRs on-line

We recently found and ZXing Home Page an interesting application that decodes a QR on-line without the need of the phone, etc…

You just need either to upload an image o provide a URL and it will return you the content of the QR-Code.

It is a pretty useful application for geeks like us, so in case you are testing codes and you don’t need to use your phone. It is as useful as ironic.

Hoping ZXing is not giving up

Last January 9th we wrote about ZXing project. It is an open-source QR-Code reader developed under Google Code culture.

From our blog we are not clever enough to help coders on the development. The only thing we can do is to communicate and support it.

We believe it would be one of the best solutions in order to spread the usage of QR-Codes. So far supported moodels are quite few and language is very technical too.

  • Does anyone know if phone companies (Nokia, Sony, etc…) are planning to get involved with this project? If so, programmers could invest their time programming readers for their phones ?
  • Why the mc2 doesn’t give their active support?

Keep it up and good luck!

We just got a comment from Sean Owen (one of ZXing project owners). Make sure you read it.

We are happy to know that they are in contact with mc2. Good luck ZXing!
